When You Look At Me

If you can only see my net worth, then you won’t know about my inheritance of gold paved streets or the abundance of grace won at Calvary.

If you can only see the lines on my face, then you won’t know about the long hard roads where Jesus met me in the dark and put light unto my path.

If you can only see the grey in my hair, then you won’t see my pain and my sorrows nestled in the hands of the Father, where Holy Spirit hovers, bringing me into joy.

If you can only see my sin, then you’ve missed my salvation and the power of repentance before a forgiving God.

If you can only see my failures, then you won’t know of His loving corrections, nor understand the path to righteousness.

If you can only see the outside, then you’ve missed the resurrection inside, boasting of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

If you can only see the grave, you won’t see my life rich with God’s mercy and grace, saved by the ransom of Christ.

But, if you can see me as a daughter of the Most High, a priestess in the Kingdom of Heaven, a warrior and a precious one, made in the image of perfection; you have seen the reflection of God’s grace inside of me. You’ve seen my life, riddled with flaws and overcome by faith.

In this faith walk, the lowly are elevated and the upright bow. Look beyond the surface to find the truth. Not all we see is what it seems…

Make me know Your ways, Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day. Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness, for they have been from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my wrongdoings; Remember me according to Your faithfulness, For Your goodness’ sake, Lord. Psalm 25:4-7
