Light of the World

Light of the World

From a heavenly perspective, morning is continual and without ceasing. Inch by inch, light adorns the earth. The melodies of dawn are a cadence in the heart of God. The birds’ joyful songs ring through the air. Grass, like violins of the field, trill in perfect vibration by the bow of His breath. Leaves clap out the soft rhythm of the day. Water rushes anew. Flower petals softly groan and unfold as His words give light[1]. The world is firmly established, it will not be moved.[2]  Therefore I have hope. The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is His faithfulness.[3] His mercies transcend the curve of the earth with the same intentional order as morning’s light. His Light is ever present, casting out darkness. As nature fulfills its purpose, so do I, guided by His Spirit. His eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in His book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, before one of them came into existence.[4] I radiated His design from the beginning, planned, wanted, cherished. So perfectly understood and loved that I am known by the intricate scent of my prayers. I am a daughter of Light because I have believed in the Light.[5] He has done all of this for me. Upon whom does His Light not rise?[6]

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12
